Czann’s Brewing Company is one of the newest breweries in Nashville but it’s owner and brewmaster Ken Rebman has been brewing delicious beer for over 10 years. Like most home brewers he started brewing in his basement, but unlike most home brewers he purchased his most recent home based solely on the basement’s ability to give him the conditions he needed to make better beer. Ken is serious about his beer. Serious enough to run piping from his kegs in the basement to a wall-mounted tap in his living room upstairs. I got to meet with Ken in his brewery located over on Lea Ave. near the new convention center. I was amazed to learn the Ken is a one-man-show. He literally does everything to brew the beer and run the business on his own. The name Czann came from combining his mother’s last name Czora with his last name Rebman, If you are still wondering how to say it just, “Say Czann’s!”…like the famous painter Cezanne.
Czann’s is currently offering a Pale Ale and a Blonde which are both fantastic beers. These beers are extremely flavorful but not overwhelming which makes them great for beer-lovers and casual drinkers alike. The Blonde is a lighter beer (still packed with a ton of flavor) that is perfect to enjoy during the summer soaking in some rays on a patio or at the beach. The Pale is great for any situation and personally I like to pair it with a great burger which is why I am so happy they have it on tap at BurgerUp. Czann’s brewing is currently not offering tours but you can find their tasty beer at BurgerUp, 12 South Taproom, The Filling Station, and Sportman’s Grille on 21st ave. Ken has plans drawn up to build a taproom in the near future.
